The creek got its name from a wagon accident that happened long before the lake was filled. Anglers will often take their time to select the right plastic worm or creature bait, but then when it comes time to grab some hooks, they will grab whatever they think might work without putting much thought into it. Here are a few basic tips to help you select the right hooks for fishing at Lake of the Ozarks . Variables of Fishing in June There are many variables to consider when choosing the right hook to use. To choose the size of the hook, the most important things to keep in mind are the size and shape of the bait, the type of cover you are fishing, and the time of year, which will dictate the aggressiveness of the fish. June is normally considered a transition month for bass. The transition we're referring to is the movement of bass from their spawning flats to their deep-water summer hangouts.
